So, after losing our original Musselburgh studios to a fire, things are looking a bit different just now. However we’ve been working hard to rebuild, and with our new space in Fenton Barns, North Berwick, we're ready to come back stronger, offering even more to our community.

Recording at Mushrooms Studios isn’t here just yet - but it’s definitely in our sights. We’ve got big plans to expand what we offer and recording is part of that vision.

Band Focus: Idiogram

Our first ever Band Focus is now live, and we’re starting strong with the brilliant @idiogramband!

They’ve been with us since the Musselburgh days, now making noise (and eating biscuits) at Fenton Barns. Their debut album Reunion of Broken Parts blends ambient, electronic and post-prog influences into something entirely their own.

We sent them some questions about writing, inspiration, and how they’re managing to pull all those layered sounds off live without the whole thing collapsing mid-set. Just about.

We will eventually have 3 new rooms for you to choose from, one of which will be a pro room with some very exciting gear.

We are also in negotiations for a new place in Musselburgh to follow so will keep you updated on this too.

Hi all, quick update as realise a lot of you will have been left with not a lot of options for rehearsal in the East Lothian area. I still can’t gain access to the studios due to the unsafe nature of the building. From what I have seen it is looking like studio 2 and 3 are gone and even if the other 2 are salvageable the building itself may be condemned. I am working on a contingency plan so you guys have another option, may not come to fruition or be in East Lothian but hopefully close enough so it’s something at least. Hopefully I can give you more details tomorrow. Thank you so much for the messages and overwhelming support. You were the guys that made Mushrooms what it was the last 13 years and long term I hope to come back bigger and better and give yous all an ever better place to enjoy. ‘Live your heart and never follow’ Ross.
